History
Crochet is a needlecraft that consists of using yarn with a hook, called a crochet hook. You draw the yarn through loops in various ways creating a fabric that is both durable and decorative.
It is not known where crochet actually originated because early examples can be found in different variations throughout the world, including Africa, the Americas and Asia.
As there are many different stitches can be used within crochet, there are also many different styles, such as broomstick lace and tunisian. They all contain the basic stitches however, such as single crochet and double crochet, and these stitches are combined in various ways. Some use different types of hooks and tools.
